Heroes for Freedom Foundation California Chapter would like to extend our deepest gratitude to every sponsor, volunteer, fishing guide, partner, and supporter who helped make our Inaugural Salute the Heroes Fishing Tournament at Bass Lake an incredible success.
Because of your generosity and support, we raised $31,900, exceeding our $30,000 goal, and provided 36 combat veterans with a meaningful weekend focused on connection, camaraderie, healing, and community.
Held at Millers Landing, the event brought together veterans and 12 professional fishing guides for a weekend that began with a Captain’s Dinner Friday evening, followed by time spent around campfires, shared conversations, cabin stays, and a full day on the water Saturday morning after breakfast. While fishing was the backdrop, the true impact came through the relationships built, the stories shared, and the reminder to these Warriors that they are not alone.
We are especially honored to have partnered with the, whose support helped connect us directly with the combat veterans we had the privilege to serve during this event.
As a fully volunteer driven organization, 100% of funds raised go directly toward creating experiences and opportunities for veterans. Every sponsorship, donation, volunteer hour, and act of support played a direct role in making this event possible.
While this marked our first California tournament, Heroes for Freedom Foundation carries a long history of impact, with nearly two decades of service and more than 15 years of successful veteran fishing tournaments in Texas. With your support, we are proud to now be building that same legacy here in California.
To everyone who stood alongside us for this inaugural event, thank you. Your partnership and belief in this mission mean more than words can express.
Now it is our turn to serve them.
